The Mayura Nritya Necklace centres upon a distinctive semi-circular pendant whose architectural silhouette immediately recalls the arches and decorative niches associated with Rajasthan's historic interiors.
Within this frame is an intricate gold-toned composition set against a rich cobalt-blue ground. At its centre, a pair of stylised peacocks face one another beneath a radiating floral or sun-like motif. Fine vegetal elements occupy the surrounding spaces, creating the dense narrative quality characteristic of miniature decorative arts.
The pendant is suspended from a delicate double-strand necklace, where small creamy pearls alternate with elongated translucent blue beads and fine gold-toned links. This intentionally restrained construction prevents the necklace from competing with the intricacy of the central artwork.
Along the lower edge of the pendant runs a row of articulated loops from which numerous fine pearl drops descend. Their graduated arrangement forms a soft triangular cascade. With movement, these individual strands shift independently—introducing fluidity beneath the otherwise architectural pendant.
The accompanying Mayura Nritya Earrings reinterpret the central design at a smaller scale. Their semi-circular forms contain fine gold-toned floral imagery against the same intense blue ground, bordered by delicate detailing. Small pearl drops articulate the lower edge, while a single elongated blue bead creates the final suspended accent.
Together, blue, gold and pearl create the entire visual vocabulary of the set: blue lends depth, gold defines the narrative, and pearls introduce movement and softness.
From afar, it is elegant.
Come closer, and the peacocks appear.
